Histological Observation of Ontogeny of Immune Organs in Red Striped Snapper(Lutjanus sanguineus)
[Objective]The aim of this paper is to study the histology of the immune organs of red striped snapper(Lutjanus sanguineus),and provide a theoretical foundation for the healthy culture and disease prevention of L.sanguineus.[Method]The serial paraffin sections were prepared from larval and juvenile red striped snapper 1 to 62 days post hatch(dph). The paraffin sections were stained with haematoxylin and eosin(H-E)and examined by light microscopy to study the histology of the development of thymus, head kidney and spleen of red striped snapper.[Result and Conclusion]The pronephros appeared at the 1 dph, blast cell at the 3 dph,a cell bridge between thymus and head kidney and lymphocytes at 18 dph,and the glomerulus still existed in the head kidney at 62 dph, indicating that renal was the lymphoid and urinary organ at that time. The progenitor spleen was found at 8 dph, little lymphocytes occasionally at 22 dph, more and more lymphocytes at 24 dph.The thymus was the last lymphoid organ to appear but showed a quick development.Progenitor thymus was found at 12 dph and lymphocytes were found at 15 dph.
