Study on the Causes of Congestion and Measures to Alleviate Congestion in Highway Tunnels
From the perspective of a highway operation manager,this article established a comprehensive indicator system for analyzing congestion in highway tunnels.Through the fusion analysis of multiple data sources,it exam-ined the characteristics of tunnel congestion and explored its causes,such as road features and vehicle merging.Taking the Qingmuguan and Shilong tunnels in Chongqing as examples,the article proposes measures to alleviate congestion,including the construction of additional lanes for highway tunnels,information sharing and dissemina-tion,and minor modifications to the tunnels.These measures have valuable implications for future management of congestion in highway tunnels.
