On Memory Writing and Historical Narration in Burmese War Novels After World War Ⅱ
Shortly after World War II,Myanmar gained its independence,and the long-term anti-colonial,anti-imperialist and anti-fascist struggles triggered a boom in the creation of war literature in the literary circle of Myanmar,and various kinds of war novels emerged one after another.Burmese writers either recount the experience of war and describe the trauma of war,or retrieve historical memories and explore historical lessons to encourage people to remember the history of war and reflect on the fate of the nation.Burmese war novels after World War II tell the battle stories of historical figures,reinforcing the national identity of the Burmese people.The novels show the social changes in different periods and reflect writers'cognition of war.
