摘要
兴盛于 20 世纪 20 年代的英国现代主义小说,尤其是弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫和戴维·赫伯特·劳伦斯的小说,用新的表达方式和创作技巧诉说着战争对帝国伦理的冲击,包括对家庭伦理的破坏、对理性主义的弱化和对自由精神的侵蚀.现代主义小说对战争期间英国社会境况的展现及对伦理价值变化的折射,揭示了一战引发的帝国伦理危机.
Abstract
The British modernist novels that flourished in the 1920s,especially those of Virginia Woolf and David Herbert Lawrence,used new modes of expression and creative techniques to tell the story of the impact of the war on the imperial ethics,including the destruction of the ethics of the family,the weakening of rationalism,and the erosion of the spirit of freedom.The modernist novels'presentation of the social situation in Britain during the war and their refraction of the changes in ethical values reveal the crisis of imperial ethics triggered by World War I.
