Umbrella of Love:Exploring Strategies for the Revitalization and Utilization of Traditional Villages
Using the renovation of the viewing platform area in Hengkeng Village,Songyang County,Zhejiang Province as an example,this paper explores new strategies and forms for the revitalization and utilization of traditional mountain village residences in China from the perspectives of architects,brand operation,and promotion.The plan attempts to break away from the traditional approach of restoring old villages as they were,seeking a balance between more artistic renovation strategies and preserving the local character of the architecture.It transforms three residential buildings in the viewing platform area into a multifunctional building that integrates viewing,touring,resting,and consumption functions.The aim is to create a new identical landmark for the village that harmoniously blends with the village's texture and residential style.
