Urban bridge underpasses are often considered"gray areas"within city landscapes, characterized by their enclosed, dim nature, leading to low utilization and neglect. However, with the rapid pace of urbanization, the reuse and revitalization of under-bridge spaces have become increasingly important.Using the"Bridge Station·Riverside Stage"project under Qinfeng Bridge in Xiaohe Street,Gongshu District,Hangzhou,as a case study, this research offers a detailed analysis of the site and discusses design strategies. It proposes a human-centered and context-sensitive design approach, aiming to transform under-bridge spaces into multifunctional public areas through light-touch interventions and user-friendly design. This approach contributes new pathways for enhancing urban aesthetics and invigorating city life.
