Renewal and Utilization of Urban"Surplus Space":A Case Study of the Space Design under the Bridge in Yangyi Street,Lucheng District,Wenzhou
Upon the urban development nowadays,leftover spaces derived from urban fabrics show potential and threatening simultaneously.Surplus space renewal are often severely limited.Study has being carried on the methodology of transformation of urban leftover spaces.This paper has concluded multiple types of urban leftover spaces,and has given a glimpse on the possibility of more efficient and positive utilizing of these spaces through a certain type of them,spaces under urban viaducts.Started with some reference theoretic studies and case studies on the topic.Then followed by a case study on the design project of the spaces under urban viaducts of Lucheng,Wenzhou.In the end,exploring the possibilities of revitalizing urban leftover space and critical thinking for the future development is given.
