Research on the Renovation of the Space under Bridge from the View of Micro-Renewal:A Case Study of the Under-Bridge Space of Hangzhou Zhijiang Bridge
Urban viaduct as an organic part of urban transportation, have given rise to a series of under-bridge spaces that have not been fully utilized by the city due to their three-dimensional road patterns, leading to the waste of urban resources. In addressing the issues encountered in the renovation and renewal of under-bridge spaces in Hangzhou, the concept of urban micro-renewal is introduced to explore the application of a micro-renewal model that is small-scale,incremental,and involves multi-party participation in the optimization of under-bridge spaces. It is suggested that the micro-renovation of under-bridge spaces should focus on three key aspects:integrating traffic flow both inside and outside the space, clarifying the spatial identity, and enhancing the space's distinctiveness.Taking the under-bridge space on the west bank of the Hangzhou Zhijiang Bridge as a case study,a systematic exposition of the renovation strategies and updating methods is presented.
