Objective To investigate the effect of nutritional therapy on quality of life, prognosis and nutritional status of patients with advanced severe lung cancer. Methods 103 patients with advanced severe lung cancer attending our hospital from January 2020 to February 2023 were collected and divided into the observation group(with nutritional therapy,n=74)and the control group(without nutritional therapy,n=29)according to the presence or absence of nutritional therapy. The duration of activity of daily living scale(ADL)degradation and differences of prognostic nutritional index(PNI),serum total protein, albumin, lymphocyte absolute value, and hemoglobin before and after treatment were measured and the safety of nutritional therapy were analyzed. Results The duration of ADL degradation in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The degree of reduction of PNI,total serum protein, albumin, absolute value of lymphocytes and hemoglobin in the observation group before and after treatment was lower than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Adverse reactions of nutritional therapy accounted for 9.5%,which could be tolerated by all patients. Conclusion Nutritional therapy can improve the quality of life, prognosis and nutritional status of patients with advanced severe lung cancer, and has good security.
