Objective To explore the application of color Doppler ultrasound in the study of the correlation between senile depression and atherosclerosis. Methods From June 2020 to June 2022,sixty elderly patients with depression were selected as the experimental group.Another sixty elderly patients who were excluded from the risk of depression due to psychological problems in the same period were selected as the control group, and the baseline data and color Doppler ultrasound results of the two groups were compared. Results Single factor analysis showed that there were statistical differences between the two groups in smoking, drinking, hypertension, diabetes, ischemic heart disease, white matter high signal, carotid intima thickness, and carotid stenosis(P<0.05).Smoking(OR=2.49,95%CI:1.09~6.01),hypertension(OR=2.26,95%CI:2.00~5.29),white matter hyperintensity(OR=2.79,95%CI:1.11~6.58),carotid intima thickening(OR=3.85,95%CI:1.25~3.55),and carotid stenosis(OR=2.92,95%CI:1.29~4.47)were independent risk factors for depression in the elderly(P<0.05).Conclusion There is a certain correlation between atherosclerosis and senile depression.Color Doppler ultrasound may be an effective method for early diagnosis and treatment of senile depression.
