Objective To investigate the effect of peritoneal lavage during operation of acute complicated appendicitis in adults, and to provide guidance for the surgical treatment of complicated appendicitis. Methods Patients with acute complex appendicitis who had undergone surgical treatment in our hospital were selected as the study objects.According to the surgical records, the patients were divided into"abdominal lavage"group and"simple suction"group. Results There were no significant differences in the first postoperative exhaust time, hospital stay, neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(NLR),C-reactive protein to albumin ratio(CAR),and postoperative extubation days between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in postoperative diarrhea or abdominal distension between the two groups(P>0.05).When the postoperative temperature peak value and postoperative temperature peak value were>37.8℃,the simple aspiration group was better than the peritoneal lavage group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In patients with acute complex appendicitis treated with surgery in our unit, intraoperative peritoneal lavage or simple aspiration did not affect the length of hospital stay, postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery, and postoperative inflammatory parameters at 3 days, but patients who underwent peritoneal lavage had a higher risk of postoperative hyperthermia.
