Objective Explore the value of peripheral blood Septin9 gene methylation(mSEPT9)in the recurrence of colorectal polyps. Methods A total of 152 patients who underwent colonoscopy at the Endoscopy Center of Hangzhou First People's Hospital Affiliated to West Lake University from September 2020 to November 2023 and were pathologically diagnosed with colorectal adenomas were collected. They were divided into the positive and negative groups based on mSEPT9 results, and into progressive and non progressive adenomas based on whether they were progressive adenomas.Analyzed the risk factors for mSEPT9 positivity, observed the relationship between the recurrence of polyps and mSEPT9.Results Age≥60 years old was a risk factor for mSEPT9 positivity, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Patients with mSEPT9 positivity had a higher polyp recurrence rate than those with negative, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Patients with advanced adenomas had a peripheral blood mSEPT9 positivity rate than those non-advanced adenomas, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion mSEPT9 can be used for screening for recurrence of colorectal polyps.
