Objective To explore the efficacy of repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)at different high frequency in Parkinson's disease with swallowing disorder. Methods Sixty patients were randomly divided into treatment Group A and Group B.Both groups underwent treatment cycles at intervals of 4 weeks after admission. In the first cycle,Group A received 10Hz rTMS intervention, while Group B received 5Hz rTMS treatment. In the second cycle, neither Group A nor Group B received rTMS intervention. In the third cycle,Group A received 5Hz rTMS intervention, and Group B received 10Hz rTMS intervention. The patients in both groups were evaluated for VFSS scores,SWAL-QOL scores at admission,4 weeks,8 weeks, and 12 weeks later, and AEMG for swallowing 5 mL of water at admission and after 4 weeks. Results After the first cycle of treatment, both groups showed significant improvement in VFSS scores,SWAL-QOL scores,AEMG for swallowing 5 mL of water, and swallowing time compared to before treatment(P<0.01).Group A showed significantly greater improvement in SWAL-QOL scores,AEMG for swallowing 5 mL of water, and swallowing time compared to Group B(P<0.01).In the washout period after the second cycle,Group B had statistically significant differences in VFSS and SWAL-QOL scores before the first and third cycles of treatment(P<0.01),while Group A had no statistically significant differences in VFSS and SWAL-QOL scores before the first and third cycles of treatment(P>0.05).Pairwise analysis of VFSS scores and SWAL-QOL scores for Group A after the first and third cycles of treatment showed that the improvement was more significant after 10Hz treatment compared to 5Hz treatment(P<0.05).After three sequential treatment cycles at different frequencies for Groups A and B,both groups showed significant improvement in VFSS and SWAL-QOL scores after treatment(P<0.01).There was a statistically significant difference in VFSS scores between the two groups(P<0.01),but no statistically significant difference in SWAL-QOL scores(P>0.05).Conclusion Different high-frequency rTMS treatments for Parkinson's disease with swallowing disorders are all significantly effective, improving patients'swallowing function, swallowing muscle tension, and swallowing time, thus enhancing the patients'quality of life.Among them,10Hz high-frequency rTMS has a more significant effect, while 5Hz high-frequency rTMS has a longer-lasting effect and is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
