Objective To explore the application value of two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography(2D-STI)in the early diagnosis of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF)in elderly uremic hemodialysis patients. Methods Thirty patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction who underwent hemodialysis in our hospital from December 2022 to December 2023 were retrospectively collected as the HFpEF group.Another 30 hemodialysis patients with no heart failure symptoms and ejection fraction greater than 50%were collected as the control group.Routine echocardiography and 2D-STI examination were performed on the two groups of patients.Cardiac function related indicators under conventional echocardiography, global left atrial reservoir function under 2D-STI,pipeline function and systolic function were compared between the two groups, and their correlation was analyzed. Results Comparison of left atrial volume index, left atrial conduit function, level of reserve function,E/A and E/Em values between the two groups of patients showed statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Left atrial two-dimensional speckle tracking technique can be used as the basis for early diagnosis of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction in elderly uremic hemodialysis patients, and provide effective information for early clinical diagnosis and treatment.
