Objective To explore the factors that affect the efficacy of drug therapy for elderly vascular dementia. Methods A prospective study was conducted to track and follow up 141 elderly patients with vascular dementia who received drug treatment in our hospital from January 2022 to July 2023.According to the efficacy index, all patients were divided into an effective group of 59 cases and an ineffective group of 82 cases, with a follow-up period of 8 weeks.Compare the influencing factors between two groups and use logistic regression equation to analyze the factors that affect the short-term efficacy of patients. Results At the end of the follow-up period, the Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA)score of 141 patients was(17.35±4.95)points.Among them,59 cases were effective in short-term treatment and 82 cases had poor results.Further logistic regression analysis showed that the protective factors affecting the short-term efficacy of drug therapy in elderly patients with vascular dementia were education level(OR>4.182),combined use of≥2 vascular dementia drugs(OR>22.477),and functional electrical stimulation intervention(OR=11.285).Risk factors includen hypertension(OR=0.015),moderate or above levels of cognitive impairment(OR<0.094),and the use of brain cell repair drugs as the main treatment for vascular dementia(OR=0.149).Conclusion Having a high level of education, the combination of anti vascular dementia drugs and functional electrical stimulation intervention can improve the effectiveness of treatment for elderly patients with vascular dementia in the short term.
