Objective To explore the application effect of lumbar plexus-sciatic nerve block and general anaesthesia in the surgery of patients with femoral neck fracture. Methods Ninety-two patients with femoral neck fracture admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to December 2023 were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group using the random number table method, with 46 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were given general anaesthesia, and the observation group underwent lumbar plexus-sciatic nerve block, and the two groups were compared in terms of hemodynamics, stress response, anaesthesia effect, pain scores, and the ability to cough and expectorate voluntarily. Results In the observation group, there was no statistically significant difference between the levels of systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),heart rate(HR),and pulse oximetry(SpO2)at T2,T3,and T4 when compared with those at T1(P>0.05).The body temperature and respiratory rate of the observation group after 10 min of anaesthesia,at the time of skin incision and 5 min after surgery were not statistically significant when compared with those before anaesthesia(P>0.05).Comparison of norepinephrine(NE),prostaglandin E2(PGE2),serum cortisol(Cor)levels, motor and sensory nerve block onset and duration, visual analogue scale(VAS)scores, and the number of spontaneous coughs and expectoration and the amount of expectoration in the patients of the two groups at 30 min after anaesthesia and at 15 min postoperatively, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with femoral neck fracture who received lumbar plexus-sciatic nerve block have less effect on the haemodynamic level, better recovery of patients and better anesthesia effect.
