Objective To explore the effect of combining traditional Chinese medicine emotional nursing with appropriate techniques of traditional Chinese medicine nursing on postoperative recovery and complications of ovarian cancer patients. Methods Retrospectively analysed 68 patients with ovarian cancer who underwent radical surgery in the obstetrics and gynecology department of our hospital from April 2021 to April 2023,according to different nursing methods, all patients were divided into a study group(n=40)and a control group(n=28).The control group received specialized disease specific nursing care, the study group received combined traditional Chinese medicine emotional nursing care on the basis of the control group.Observe the visual analogue scale(VAS)of two groups of patients at 6 hours,12 hours,24 hours,3 days, and 5 days after surgery. The time of first anal discharge, recovery of gastrointestinal function, first bowel movement, start of eating, and time of getting out of bed after surgery were observed, the General Self Efficacy Scale(GSES)score and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)score before and after nursing care were observed.Nursing satisfaction and incidence of complications upon discharge were assessed. Results The VAS scores of the study group patients at 6 hours,12 hours,24 hours,3 days, and 5 days after surgery were significantly lower than those of the control group patients, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The time for the first anal discharge, first bowel movement, recovery of gastrointestinal function, getting out of bed activity, and start of eating in the research group was significantly shortened compared to the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The SAS score and GSES score of the pre nursing study group patients were not statistically significant compared to the control group(P>0.05).After nursing, the SAS scores of the two groups of patients significantly decreased, and the GSES scores significantly increased, the GSES scores of the study group increased significantly compared to the control group, and the SAS scores decreased, the satisfaction level of nursing in the research group was significantly higher than that in the control group, the total incidence of complications in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of traditional Chinese medicine emotional nursing and specialized disease characteristic nursing can effectively improve the postoperative recovery of ovarian cancer patients, reduce the incidence of complications, and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
