Speech dysfunction after stroke is a common sequelae of stroke,which caused alexia,agraphia,dysphonia and other symptoms of patients unable to communicate with others,greatly reduced the life quality of patients and the effectiveness of rehabilitation.Eye needling therapy,as a kind of micro-needle therapy,has been found to be effective in treating various sequelae after stroke in half a century of clinical application.Based on many years of clinical practice,Professor PENG Jingshan used traditional Chinese medicine theory to divide the area around the eyes into'eight areas and thirteen points'.In clinical study,the author found that patients with post-stroke speech dysfunction treated with eye needling the heart area could significantly improve the functions of the patients.This study explored the etiology and pathogenesis of post-stroke speech dysfunction from the perspective of'innate Shen-Eye-acquired Shen',explained the source and location of the heart area,analyzed the TCM theoretical basis in treating post-stroke speech dysfunction by eye needling the heart area,and introduced the clinical application and modern researches of the treatment of post-stroke speech dysfunction by eye needling the heart area.
