Impacts of Garlic Separated Moxibustion Combined with 2HRZE/4HR Regimen on TCM Symptom Score and Sputum Negative Conversion Rate in Patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis of Deficiency of Both Qi and Yin
Objective:To explore the impacts of garlic separated moxibustion combined with 2HRZE/4HR regimen on TCM symptom score and sputum negative conversion rate in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis of deficiency of both Qi and Yin.Methods:A total of 130 cases of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis of deficiency of both Qi and Yin were randomly divided into the control group(n=65)and the study group(n=65).The control group was treated with 2HRZE/4HR regimen;on which basis, the study group was also treated with garlic separated moxibustion.Clinical efficacy,TCM symptom score, sputum negative conversion rate, inflammatory indicators, changes in immune function, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:Compared with those in the control group, the total effective rate of the study group obviously increased(P<0.05).There were no obvious difference in sputum negative conversion rate, serum matrix metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1),C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),CD4+,CD8+and CD4+/CD8+between the two groups before the treatment(P>0.05);after the treatment, the levels of TIMP-1,CRP,TNF-α and CD8+decreased(P<0.05),the sputum negative conversion rate,CD4+and CD4+/CD8+increased in both groups(P<0.05);of which the improvements in the study group were more significant than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions was obviously lower in the study group than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of garlic separated moxibustion and 2HRZE/4HR regimen has a definite effect on patients with pulmonary tuberculosis of deficiency of both Qi and Yin.It can reduce TCM symptom score and inflammatory factor levels, and improve sputum negative conversion rate and immune function, with a high safety.
