Exploration on Acupuncture Treatment for Spastic Mobility Disorder Based on Principle of'Mobilizing Sinew and Regulating Qi'
Spastic mobility disorder, characterized by limb spasm and joint contracture, are caused by brain or spinal cord injury. This study summarized several specific acupuncture techniques used for spastic mobility disorder, aiming to provide evidence and insights for optimizing therapeutic regimen and research on antispasmodic acupuncture methods.By comparing and analyzing widely used and effective antispasmodic methods, including motion-style scalp acupuncture,Dongqi needling,Fu's subcutaneous needling, sinew needling,stuck-moving needling, motion acupuncture and lateral needling,a common characteristic of conduction of movements with needle retained was found. Those needling techniques achieve therapeutic results via the effects of acupuncture in regulating Qi and blood and sinew-releasing effect of movements.Acupuncture with motion techniques guided by the principle of'mobilizing sinew and regulating Qi'could help relieve spasticity due to damages of central nerve systems and promote the recovery of motor function, which is worthy of further clinical and mechanism research.
