Clinical Study of Internal Heat Needling Combined with Pricking Blood and Cupping on Myofascial Trigger Points in Treatment of LDH
Objective:To explore the clinical effect of internal heat needling combined with pricking blood and cupping on myofascial trigger points(MTrPs)in treatment of lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods:60 patients with LDH were randomly divided into the control group and the study group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional acupuncture combined with MTrPs pricking blood and cupping;whereas the study group was treated with internal heat needling combined with MTrPs pricking blood and cupping. Both groups received continuous treatment for 20 days.Clinical efficacy was compared between the two groups after the treatment.TCM symptoms scores(lumbosacral pain, lower limb weakness, lumbar and leg coldness),visual analogue scale(VAS)score for lumbosacral pain, and lumbar spine function(JOA score)were compared between the two groups before the treatment, after 5 d,10 d and 20 d of the treatment. Results:The total effective rate in the study group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of TCM symptoms and VAS were lower after the treatment than those before the treatment in the two groups, and the scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group at the same point of time(P<0.05).The score of JOA was higher after the treatment than that before the treatment in the two groups, and the score was higher in the study group than that in the control group at the same point of time(P<0.05).Conclusion:Internal heat needling combined with MTrPs pricking blood and cupping has a significant clinical efficacy in treatment of LDH,it can effectively improve clinical symptoms, reduce pain intensity, and promote recovery of lumbar spine function.
