Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of the midnight-midday ebb flow acupuncture in promoting gastrointestinal function recovery in patients after laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and to demonstrate the guiding role of'Zusanli(ST36)for abdomen and stomach problems'.Methods:Guided by'ST36 for abdomen and stomach problems',the midnight-midday ebb flow acupuncture was applied to ST36,which was taken as the main acupoint for timed acupuncture in patients after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The time of first flatus, time of first bowel movement, time for restoration of bowel sounds, changes in serum inflammatory factors, degree of postoperative abdominal distention and pain, and occurrence of nausea and vomiting were compared between the two groups to evaluate gastrointestinal function recovery of the two groups, thus to further demonstrate the guiding role of'ST36 for abdomen and stomach problems'and the clinical efficacy of the midnight-midday ebb flow acupuncture. Results:The time of first flatus, first bowel movement and restoration of bowel sounds was significantly shortened, and serum levels of IL-6 and CRP were decreased in the treatment group than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Application of the midnight-midday ebb flow acupuncture with ST36 as the main acupoint for timed acupuncture in patients after laparoscopic cholecystectomy can promote gastrointestinal function recovery, further validating the guiding significance of'ST36 for abdomen and stomach problems'after laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
