Clinical Study of Penetration Needling along Meridians Combined with Needle-Warming Moxibustion in Treatment of Peripheral Facial Paralysis
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of penetration needling along meridians combined with needle-warming moxibustion in treatment of peripheral facial paralysis.Methods:122 patients with peripheral facial palsy were randomly divided into the control group and the combined group, with 61 cases in each group. The control group was treated with needle-warming moxibustion;on which basis, and the combined group was also treated with penetration needling along meridians. Both groups were treated 5 times a week for 4 weeks.Various symptoms scores of peripheral facial palsy, facial nerve function grading(H-B),Facial Disability Index(FDI),clinical therapeutic effect and occurrence of adverse events were compared between the two groups. Results:After the treatment, the various symptoms scores were lower in the combined group than those in the control group(P<0.05);the H-B grading was better in the combined group than that in the control group(P<0.05);the FDI physical function score was higher in the combined group than that in the control group, whereas the FDI social function score was lower in the combined group than that in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate was higher in the combined group than that in the control group(P<0.05).No adverse events occurred in both groups during the treatment. Conclusion:Penetration needling along meridians combined with needle-warming moxibustion has a good efficacy in treatment of peripheral facial paralysis, and it can effectively improve the facial nerve function and relieve the facial nerve paralysis. The therapy is worthy of clinical promotion.
