Clinical Study of JIN's Three-Needle Regulating Shen Acupuncture in Treatment of Mild-to-Moderate Parkinson's Disease Depression
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of JIN's three-needle regulating Shen acupuncture in treatment of mild-to-moderate Parkinson's disease depression(PDD).Methods:72 patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into the control group and the treatment group, with 36 cases in each group. The control group was given basic treatment;on which basis, the treatment group was treated with JIN's three-needle regulating Shen acupuncture. The scores of Hamilton Depression Scale-17 items(HAMD-17),Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale-Part Ⅲ(UPDRS-Ⅲ),39-item Parkinson's Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire(PDQ-39)and Parkinson's Disease Sleepiness Scale(PDSS)were compared between before and after the treatment in the two groups;PDQ-39 scores on the 30th day of the post-treatment and adverse events were observed in the two groups as well. Results:The scores of HAMD-17,UPDRS-Ⅲ and PDQ-39 were decreased significantly(P<0.05),and PDSS score was increased after the treatment compared with those before the treatment in the treatment group(P<0.05).In terms of the correlation analysis, the pre-treatment and post-treatment differences of HAMD-17 scores showed a positive correlation with the pre-treatment and post-treatment scores differences of UPDRS-Ⅲ and PDQ-39,and a negative correlation with the score difference of PDSS(UPDRS-Ⅲ:r=0.54;PDQ-39:r=0.53;PDSS:r=-0.50).During the treatment period, there were no serious adverse reactions occurring in the two groups. Conclusion:JIN's three-needle regulating Shen acupuncture has good efficacy and safety in treatment of mild-to-moderate PDD,and the improvement of depression is correlated with the improvement of movement, quality of life and quality of sleep.
