Professor LIU Huilin's Acupuncture Technique of'Using Dispersion as Main Method,Reinforcing and Warming Simultaneously'for Treatment of Cluster Headache
Cluster headache is a severe unilateral headache primarily affecting the orbit,supraorbital,and/or temporal regions.It is often accompanied by autonomic nervous symptoms such as conjunctival congestion,lacrimation,rhinorrhea,and sweating,severely impacting the patient's quality of life.Professor LIU Huilin believes that the occurrence of cluster headache is due to various factors leading to stagnation of the head meridians and impaired circulation,resulting in pain.Acupuncture treatment principles focus on dispelling pathogenic factors,promoting meridian circulation,and resolving blood stasis.Sequential treatment methods such as regulating Shen with filiform needles,filiform fire pricking needling,and bloodletting methods are employed to regulate Qi and blood,dredging meridians and dispel resistant pathogenic factors.Over ten cases of cluster headache have been treated with satisfactory results.
