Research Progress on Mechanism of Acupuncture Treatment for PCOS
Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)is a common reproductive endocrine disorder in gynecology, with an incidence of approximately about 6%to 10%,and the prevalence among women of reproductive age is significantly higher. In recent years, acupuncture has been increasingly widely applied in the clinical treatment of PCOS,with a significant efficacy, and related mechanistic research is gradually unfolding. This study introduced the main mechanisms of acupuncture in improving PCOS and current research progress, such as regulating the HPOA axis, reducing androgens, alleviating inflammatory response, regulating intestinal flora, regulating emotions, improving insulin resistance, ovarian function, endometrial receptivity, oxidative stress and vascular abnormalities, among others. It aimed to provide a theoretical basis and reference for the basic research and clinical treatment of this disease.
