Clinical Study on Triple Needling Baliao Points Combined with Infrared Polarized Light Irradiation in Treatment of Acute Non-Specific Low Back Pain
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of triple needling Baliao points combined with infrared polarized light irradiation in treatment of acute non-specific low back pain.Methods:60 patients with acute non-specific low back pain were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 30 cases in each group.Patients in both groups were irradiated with infrared polarized light using oscillating mode at the needling site, once a day;on which basis, the control group was treated with conventional needling and the observation group was treated with triple needling Baliao points, and the needling lasted for 5 days. The clinical efficacy was compared between the two groups. The score of visual analogue scale(VAS)was used to evaluate the degree of pain in the low back and legs, the score of Oswestry dysfunction index(ODI)was used to evaluate the function of the lumbar spine, and the score of finger-ground distance(FFD)was used to evaluate the degree of active forward flexion restriction in the low back before and after the treatment in the two groups. The quality of life was evaluated by using the Health Status Questionnaire SF-36 before and after the treatment. Results:After 5 days of the treatment, the scores of VAS,ODI and FFD decreased significantly in the two groups(P<0.05),and the decreases were more significant in the observation group than those in the control group(P<0.05).The score of SF-36 increased significantly in both groups after the treatment(P<0.05),and the score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group after the treatment(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.67%(29/30),which was significantly higher than 80.00%(24/30)of the control group(P<0.05).There were no significant adverse reactions in the two groups. Conclusion:Triple needling Baliao points combined with infrared polarized light irradiation is effective in treatment of acute non-specific low back pain, which is better than conventional needling in terms of relieving pain, improving lumbar forward flexion, and improving life qualities of the patients in the early stage of the disease.
