Therapeutic Efficacy of Composite Needling with Round-Sharp Needles in Treatment of Single-Stage Lumbar Spinal Stenosis
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of round-sharp needling Hegu(LI4)combined with pricking and stretching ligmentum flavum in lateral recess of lumbar vertebrae in treatment of single-stage lumbar spinal stenosis(LSS).Methods:60 patients with single-stage LSS were randomly divided into the treatment group(n=30)and the control group(n=30).The treatment group was given myofascial release therapy with round-sharp needles, whereas the control group was given conventional acupuncture. The scores of VAS and ODI were observed between before and after the treatment in the two groups, and MacNab standard was used to evaluate the efficacy of the two groups. Results:The scores of VAS and ODI were significantly improved after the treatment compared to those before the treatment in the two groups(P<0.05),and the improvements were more significant in the treatment group than those in the control group(P<0.01),with statistically significant differences. The total effective rate of the treatment group was 80.00%(24/30),which was significant higher than 43.33%(13/30)of the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:The efficacy of composite needling with round-sharp needles is significant in treatment of single-stage LSS.
