Clinical Overview of Scalp Acupuncture Therapy for Ischemic Stroke
Ischemica stroke(IS)is a type of cerebrovascular disease caused by the interaction of multiple factors leading to narrowing or blockage of intracranial blood vessels, resulting in necrosis of brain tissue. Its high disability rate significantly impacts the daily lives of patients.Scalp acupuncture,by stimulating specific areas of the scalp, regulates cerebral cortical function, thus promoting the circulation of visceral meridians. The safety and efficacy of scalp acupuncture in treating IS have gained increasing recognition. This study systematically reviews relevant literature from various schools of scalp acupuncture therapy, the mechanism of action in treating IS,and the selection and application of scalp acupuncture stimulation areas. The aim is to provide an objective and scientific theoretical basis for the clinical application of scalp acupuncture in treating IS,to establish optimal acupoint localization and quantify needling techniques and to promote the wider clinical application of scalp acupuncture.Ultimately, this aims to provide more evidence-based medicine for the treatment of IS with scalp acupuncture.
