Research Progress on Acupuncture-Rehabilitation Therapy Improving Ischemic Stroke by Regulating Apoptosis Signaling Pathway
Ischemic stroke is a common cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease caused by obstruction of cerebral arteries and triggered by thrombosis or embolism or atherosclerosis.Acupuncture-rehabilitation therapy combines acupuncture and rehabilitation, where rehabilitation training is conducted during the retention of acupuncture needles.Neuron death caused by cerebral ischemia determines the mortality and disability rates of stroke.Apoptosis is a significant form of cell death following ischemic brain injury.Acupuncture-rehabilitation therapy can regulate apoptosis through intrinsic pathways, extrinsic pathways, the Notch signaling apoptosis pathway and the p53-mediated apoptosis pathway to reduce cell apoptosis and improve ischemic stroke. This study reviews how acupuncture-rehabilitation therapy improves ischemic stroke by regulating apoptotic signaling pathways, highlighting its therapeutic advantages. The aim is to provide theoretical support for the clinical application of acupuncture-rehabilitation therapy in treating ischemic stroke.
