Effect of Huayu Tongluo Moxibustion Combined with Cognitive Function Training on Cognitive Function and Serum VEGF Level in Patients with PSCI
Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy and effects on vascular endothelial growth factor level(VEGF)between Huayu Tongluo moxibustion combined with cognitive function training and cognitive function training alone in treatment of post-stroke cognitive impairment(PSCI).Methods:All cases were collected from June 2021 to June 2023 in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical University.The patients were divided into the observation group and the control group,with 20 patients in each group.The observation group was treated with Huayu Tongluo moxibustion and cognitive function training,whereas the control group was only treated with cognitive function training.The intervention was three times a week for 12 weeks.The scores of MMSE,MoCA and ADL,the serum level of VEGF,as well as the clinical efficacy was compared between the two groups.Results:After 12 weeks of the treatment,the scores of MMSE,MoCA and ADL were significantly increased compared with those before the treatment in the two groups(P<0.01),and the scores were higher in the observation group than those in the control group(P<0.05).The serum level of VEGF were increased after 12 weeks of the treatment than that before the treatment in the two groups(P<0.05),and the level of VEGF was higher in the observation group than that in the control group(P<0.01).The total effective rate was 90.00%(18/20)in the observation group,which was higher than 75.00%(15/20)in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of Huayu Tongluo moxibustion and cognitive function training can effectively improve patients'cognitive function and daily living ability,and the curative effect is better than that of simple cognitive function training.The function mechanism may be related to the regulation of serum VEGF level.
