Effect of Electro-Needling Four Acupoints on Sacral Region Combined with Needle-Warming Moxibustion on Bladder Function and Quality of Life in Patients with Stress Urinary Incontinence after Rectal Cancer Surgery
Objective:To study the effect of electro-needling four acupoints on sacral region combined with needle-warming moxibustion on bladder function and life quality of the patients with stress urinary incontinence after rectal cancer surgery.Methods:126 patients with stress urinary incontinence after rectal cancer surgery were randomly assigned into the study group and the control group, with 63 patients in each group. The control group was treated with electro-needling four acupoints on sacral region;on which basis, the study group was also treated with needle-warming moxibustion.Clinical efficacy, maximum voiding sense(MVS),maximum flow rate(MFR),post-void residual volume(PVR),number of normal detrusor and sphincter contractions,International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form(ICIQ-SF)score,number of incontinence episodes per 24 h,and Incontinence Quality of Life(I-QOL)score were compared between the two groups after the treatment. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 71.43%(45/63),which was significantly higher than 53.97%(34/63)of the control group(P<0.05).There were no statistical differences in MVS,PVR,MFR and number of normal detrusor and sphincter contractions between the two groups before the treatment(P>0.05);MVS,MFR and number of normal detrusor and sphincter contractions were increased, and PVR was decreased in the two groups after the treatment(P<0.05);of which the improvements in the study group were more significant than those in the control group(P<0.05).There were no statistical differences in ICI-Q-SF score and number of incontinence episodes per 24 h between the two groups before the treatment(P>0.05);which were decreased after the treatment in the two groups(P<0.05),and the improvements were more significant in the study group than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference in I-QOL score between the two groups before the treatment(P>0.05);I-QOL score showed increase after 30 d of the treatment but without statistical difference compared with that before the treatment in the two groups(P>0.05);I-QOL score was increased after 60 d and 90 d of the treatment in the two groups(P<0.05),which was higher in the study group than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Application of electro-needling four acupoints on sacral region combined with needle-warming moxibustion has a significant effect on stress urinary incontinence after rectal cancer surgery,it can effectively ameliorate bladder function and improve life quality of the patients.
