Research Progress on Mechanism of Acupuncture Treatment for AMI
Acute myocardial ischemia(AMI)is the most common and high-risk cardiovascular disease, which may be fatal in urgent cases.Studies have shown that acupuncture has been widely utilized as an effective therapy in treatment of AMI.However, its potential mechanism of action is not yet well understood, and there has been little review of related work. Therefore, this study uses the neural-endocrine-immune(NEI)network as a starting point to introduce relevant research findings on various aspects such as acupoint activation, afferent pathways, central processing efferent pathways, and effector organs. The results showed that acupuncture signals are transmitted step by step and amplified in a cascade through continuous bidirectional feedback among the nervous, endocrine and immune systems, ultimately preventing AMI.Based on this, this study suggests conducting multidisciplinary research to systematically study the various stages and overall pathways involved in the acupuncture effect process, laying the foundation for broadening research perspectives and expanding clinical treatment approaches.
