Research Progress on Acupuncture Regulating Microglia to Alleviate Neuropathic Pain
Neuropathic pain is one of the primary causes of chronic pain significantly affects patients'quality of life.Microglia, the immune cells of the central nervous system, play a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis. When homeostasis is disrupted, microglia rapidly become activated and are classified into M1 and M2 types based on their functions. After nerve injury, activated microglia undergo various reactions such as proliferation, gene transcription, production of bioactive factors, and phagocytosis, all of which contribute to neuropathic pain. This study explores the mechanisms by which acupuncture affects microglia, elucidating the analgesic mechanism of acupuncture with the aim of providing new insights for research on acupuncture analgeisa.
