Dilemmas and Resolution of Vocational College Students'Identity
As individuals with relatively lower educational qualifications in a diploma-oriented society, vocational college students often encounter dilemmas and anxieties regarding their identity. The identity dilemma of vocational college students mainly manifests as identity anxiety under label regulation, identity discrimination due to the devaluation of values, and the solidification of identity boundaries that are difficult to overcome. From the perspective of the sociology of education, the identity dilemma of vocational college students is essentially the product of the logic of educational credentialism.Educational stratification is the hidden mechanism behind the identity dilemma of vocational college students.Low collective self-identity and self-value loss lead to identity anxiety.Limited upward mobility channels result in individual value depreciation, and the reinforcement of educational credentials in a diploma-oriented society creates social strata and mobility barriers. Therefore,to resolve the identity crisis,it is necessary to facilitate vocational college students'development pathways, stimulate their intrinsic development potential, provide targeted psychological education to enhance their self-value identification, reconstruct the logic of educational stratification, and accelerate the construction of a skill-based society.
