International Comparative Perspective:Learning from Experiences and Optimizing Paths for the Integration of Vocational and General Higher Education
Currently,the separation and division between vocational education and general education in our country not only hinder the systematic cultivation of specialized talents but also fail to meet the demands of students for educational equity and personal all-round development.Therefore,the integration of vocational education and general education has become an important goal of national educational reform.In the global context,major developed countries have gradually formed their unique models of integrating vocational education and general education in higher education through practical exploration.According to the primary and secondary relationships of integration and penetration,the models of integrating vocational education and general education in higher education in developed countries can be divided into:the blended integration type represented by Germany,the integration-oriented type represented by the United States,and the penetration-oriented type represented by Australia.These countries have different priorities and features in policy provision,subject coordination,and mechanism design.In response to the existing problems of systemic mismatch,subject coordination disorder,and institutional misalignment in the integration of vocational education and general education in Chinese higher education,drawing on international experience can provide a good ecological environment for promoting the integration of vocational education and general education in Chinese higher education from the aspects of optimizing policy allocation,promoting subject supply,and improving mechanism supply.Tailored to local conditions,it sketches a practical path for the integration of vocational education and general education in Chinese higher education with Chinese characteristics.
