Research on Curriculum Development of Teacher Continuing Education in the Digital Age:Reflection on the Continuing Teacher Education Project at Moreland University in the United States
As a fully online education institution,Moreland University carries out continuing teacher education for k-12 teachers across the United States.In curriculum design,Moreland University has set up continuing education modules of varying length and content according to the survey results.In curriculum implementation,the interaction between instructors,lecturers,and students runs through the whole process,which is mainly reflected in the three stages of preparation,expansion,and extension.In curriculum evaluation,the continuing teacher education project of Moreland University includes not only the evaluation of students'learning effects but also the evaluation of curriculum setting and curriculum implementation.For the implementation institutions of online continuing education for teachers in China,scientific implementation of continuing education for teachers in the digital era can fully draw on the practice of the continuing education project of Moreland University.It is suggested to set up teacher continuing education courses based on online surveys,implement teacher continuing education courses under the guidance of the notion of less teaching and more learning,and improve the online evaluation system for teacher continuing courses based on the Kirkpatrick Model.
