The Construct of Planned Textbook of Vocational Education at Provincial Level:Progress,Effect and Optimization
Currently, twenty provinces have adopted methods such as selection, inclusion, and cultivation to develop provincial planned textbooks. An analysis of the published textbooks reveals that more than seventy percent are vocational college textbooks. The chief editors primarily come from vocational colleges.Public course textbooks feature a variety of themes, while professional course textbooks encompass nineteen major professional categories.Printed textbooks continue to be the main medium, with half of them published by national-level publishers.Measures such as implementing national requirements, closely aligning with regional needs, leveraging the role of quality schools as the main contributors, collaborating across multiple parties in textbook development, adhering to the principles of textbook construction, and strictly controlling the quality of textbook development are worth referencing. However, discrepancies in construction ideas, shortcomings in certain areas, limitations within provincial entities, and inadequate oversight are evident. These issues stem from considerations of self-interest,deviations in construction positioning, and insufficient scientific validation.Recommendations include clarifying construction responsibilities, accurately identifying construction positioning, advancing in a scientific and orderly manner, innovating construction ideas, and achieving closed-loop management to better promote high-quality development.
