Study on Biomass of Different Density Fast-growing Industrial Forest at Mountainous Region
Investigations were carded out on biomass of different density forests of Liriodendron chinense, Eucatyptus dunnii and Elaeocarpus decipiens at mountainous region in Lishui, Zhejiang province. The result dcmoustratcd that 4-year stand of the above-mentioned three species had mean DBH of 5.08, height of 4.96m and volume of 25.52 m3/hm2, mean single tree biomass of 4.18kg, among which trunk of 2.95kg, bark of 0.36kg, branch of 0.73kg and leaf of 0.20kg. Mean total biomass of each species reached 16.98t/ha, among which 10.43 t/ha of trunk, 1.29 t/ha of bark, 2.25 t/ha of branch, 0.71 t/ha of leaf and 2.53 t/ha of litter. It had great difference of forest biomass for different density and different tree species, the largest was the density of 1.0 m×1.8 m and the species of L. chmense, reached 41.71 m3/hm2,which could be recommended as the management model for short-rotatiun industrial forest at mountainous region. Spatial distribution of these species biomass decreased from the base to the top, aggregated at the medium, L. chinense at 3-6m, Eu. dunnii at 3-5m and E. sylvestris at 1-4m.
