Description was made on the background and development of forest certification in China,as well as on its social,ecological and economic impact on forest management,especially from the view of point of cost and benefit of the forest certification.Recommendations were put forwarded for further development of forest certification in China,such as sustainable forest management as the target,capacity building as the main work,and large forestry enterprises as leader.
