Presentations were made on damages caused by typhoons to urban greening in coastal areas by literature. Analysis on the factors of influ-ence of typhoon on urban trees demonstrated that biological properties,lower pruning frequency,poor soil structure,and distribution patterns had close relation with damage. Countermeasures were put forwarded to enhance typhoon resistance of urban greening such as selection of wind resistant tree species,tree reinforcement and protection,and tending management.
