Research progress in remediation of soil heavy metal pollution by Sphingosinomonas
Sphingosinomonas is gram-negative bacterium, which could degradate aromatic compounds and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.Works indicated that Sphingosinomonas could degradate heavy metals, and the expression process of related functional genes had been discovered. However, the degradation mechanism and the complete deg-radation process has not been well elucidated. In this paper, the research status of Sphingosinomonas was summa-rized,the remediation effects of Sphingosinomonas on heavy metal pollution was reviewed, the influencing factors in the remediation process was evaluated as well as its mechanism of promoting plant growth. In addition, the key genes and mechanisms of Sphingosinomonas in the remediation of heavy-metal contaminated soil were analyzed, which of-fered ideas and basis for the further development and utilization of Sphingomonas in the remediation of environmental pollution.
