The basic characteristics of 17 varieties of Efengsimiao and its derivative inbred varieties and hybridcombinations registered at the provincial level or above in recent years were analyzed.The results showed that the effective panicle number,plant height,seed setting rate and 1 000-grain weight of Efengsimiao and its derivative inbred varieties and hybrid combinations were relatively high,and the effective panicle number and seed setting rate contributed more to the unit yield.On the whole,the grain quality and blast resistance of Efengsimiao,its derivative inbred varieties and hybrid combinations were relatively good,but the resistance of sheath blight and false smut still needed to be improved.
