Keyuan A is a high-quality soft rice type three-line male sterile line developed by the Rice Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.The offsprings of the hybridization between Mei B and Yixiang B were tracked and detected by molecular markers,and the elite single plants containing the genes of gs3,Wxb and fgr were selected in multi-year directional selection,and then they were testcrossed with Mei A followed by successive backcrosses to develop Keyuan A.It has stable sterility with complete pollen sterility,fragrance and high outcrossing rate,its hybrid combinations show weak photosensitivity and good grain quality with low amylose content and aromatic soft cooked rice.It passed the technical identification organized by Guangxi Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in April 2020.Two high-quality hybrid combinations(Keyuanyou 616 and Keyuanyou 610)derived from Keyuan A have been approved by the National Crop Variety Appraisal Committee.
