Breeding and Application of Disease-resistant Indica PTGMS Line Hua 1228S in Rice
Hua 1228S is an indica photo-thermo-sensitive genic male sterile(PTGMS)line resistant to blast and bacterial leaf blight(BLB)in rice,which was developed from the recipient parent Guangzhan 63-4S and two disease-resistant donor parents YR7029-39 bearing the BLB-resistant Xa7 gene,and VE6219 harboring the blast-resistant Pi2 gene through hybridization,backcrossing,multi-crossing and marker-assisted selection(MAS).There have been ten hybrid rice combinations derived from Hua 1228S registered and released to commercial production,of which two have passed the national approval and eight have passed the Hubei provincial approval.
