Research Progress on the Relationship Between Rice Root Characteristics and Methane Emission from Paddy Fields
Paddy field is one of the main sources of methane(CH4)emissions and has an important impact on global greenhouse gas emissions.Reducing CH4 emissions from paddy fields is an important measure to achieve the goals of"carbon peak"and"carbon neutrality".CH4 in paddy fields is mostly produced under flooded anaerobic conditions, which is closely related to the growth characteristics of rice roots. This paper mainly introduced the mechanism of CH4 emission in paddy fields, expounded the relationship between rice root structure, morphology and physiological characteristics and CH4 emission and its internal mechanism, analyzed the influence of water management on CH4 emission in paddy fields, and put forward the existing problems and prospects for future research,in order to provide theoretical basis for CH4 emission reduction in paddy fields and green production of rice.
