5308S,derived from the hybridization between Guangzhan 63S as the female parent and high-quality restorer line 4M036 followed by five years of pedigree selection,is a new indica thermo-sensitive genic male sterile(TGMS)line in rice developed by Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences.It has moderate growth period,ideal plant type,strong combining ability,high 1 000-grain weight,grain quality up to the first grade of"Cooking rice variety quality"standard issued by the Ministry of Agriculture,moderate bacterial blight resistance,and easy multiplication and hybrid seed production.It was registered in Anhui Province in August 2011,and its hybrid combinations Liangyou 766,Liangyou 631 and Liangyou 531 were developed and approved by Anhui Province or National Crop Variety Appraisal Committee.
