Research progress on hormones and regulation of rice leaf senescence
Rice(Oryza sativa L.),as an important staple food crop,is the main food source for over half of the global population.Leaf senescence is the final stage in the plant leaf development process, and is an adap-tive mechanism formed during long-term natural evolution. The process of rice leaf senescence directly affects the yield and quality of rice, therefore, research on the regulation mechanism of rice leaf senescence is of great significance for ensuring or increasing crop yield. The process of leaf senescence is regulated by various exter-nal and internal factors, among which plant hormones play an important role in regulating the process of leaf senescence, with different types of hormones having either promoting or delaying effects on the senescence process.By consulting relevant domestic and international literature, analyzing and summarizing, recent re-search progress on the regulation mechanism of hormones in rice leaf senescence was reviewed, aimed to lay a theoretical foundation for a deeper understanding of the role of hormones in the regulation of rice leaf senes-cence,and to provide relevant references for breeding high-yielding and stable rice varieties.
