A Research on the Employees'Welfare in Hunan Factories and Mining Enterprises in the Early Days of the Founding of the People's Republic of China
In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China,Hunan became a key area for socialist construction.Back then,there existed such problems in the welfare of workers in some facto-ries and mines as low living standards,poor food in canteens,serious occupational diseases,frequent oc-currence of accidents,and workers'low cultural and technical level,which seriously affected the produc-tion of factories and mines and the country's industrialization.The party and the government attached great importance to the above-mentioned problems,and immediately promoted the welfare of workers in facto-ries and mines through such measures as reasonably adjusting the wages of workers,actively improving workers'diet,carrying out the prevention and treatment of workers'occupational diseases,improving workers'living environment,strengthening workers'labor protection,carrying out literacy campaigns,and strengthening ideological and political education among workers.Expectedly,remarkable achievements were achieved.
