Radical simulation theorists suggest that people can understand other minds without psychological knowledge, and that people acquire psychological concepts through radical simulation. However, without psychological knowledge, thorough simulation cannot fully understand the psychological state of others, and it is also difficult to explain how psychological concepts are acquired.Based on the idea of simulation,we propose our own mental reading model to explain the cognitive mechanism of the mind.We assimilate the psychological ideas of the cultural-historical school, then reinterpret the psychological proposition module, providing corresponding explanations for the acquisition of psychological and non-psychological concepts. On this basis,we argue that the scientific evidence for mirror neurons does not support the radical simulation theory. The revised mind-reading model has stronger explanatory power than the radical imitation theory and the traditional theoretical view.
